1.Tag: Delhi

Arrival in Delhi and transfer to the booked hotel in Delhi. Late in the afternoon city tour of Delhi. Visit the traditional Old Delhi and the modern New Delhi. You will be amazed at what has to offer Old Delhi and New Delhi: The Red Fort (Mogul fortress), built by the Mogul Shah Jahn, Raj Ghat (Mahatma Gandhi Memorial), Jama Masjid, India's largest mosque, the first Islamic work of art on Indian soil Quatab Minar (UNESCO World Heritage Site), Chandini Chowk (the seething shopping street) and other attractions. Overnight in Delhi.

2.Tag: Delhi - Amritsar

Catch the train toDelhi - Amritsar (07:20-13:00). On the afternoon visit the Golden Temple at Amritsar. The most famous building is the Golden Temple, the shrine of the Sikhs. Overnight Amritsar.

3.Tag: Amritsar - Dharmasala

Ride from Amritsar to Dharmasala (approx. 5 hours). Then  leave  Punjab and drive to the foothills of the Himalayas and in to the town Dharamsala. Here, following the expulsion of the Tibetans by the Chinese in 1959, developed the center of Tibet in exile. The Dalai Lama and thousands of Tibetans built up around the seat of the Tibetan exile government on its own a small traditional Tibetan organized community. About 12,000 Tibetans live in Dharamsala. The Tibetan tradition is maintained in many cultural institutions and in the newly built monasteries and preserved. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight in Dharmasala.

4.Tag: Dharmasala

 Pay visits to Dharmasala: Bhagsu-Nag, Tibetan Market, Dal Lake Monastery of the Dalai Lamas, St John Church. Overnight in Dharmasala.

5.Tag: Dharmasala - Manali

Dharmasala ride to Manali (7 hours). Manali is situated about 2200 m high and is surrounded by huge mountains Overnight in Manali.

6.Tag: Manali

Sightseeing in Manali: Hadimba temples, hot spring, Nagar, Patlikul. Overnight in Manali.

7.Tag: Manali - Keylong

Ride Manali - Keylong over Rohtang Pass (6 hours). On a really adventurous mountain road between Manali and Leh, it goes right through uninhabited regions of the Himalayan Mountains. We will cross the lonely passes and will be visiting Buddhist villages in this remote region. Nomads, yaks and wild horses live in the hauntingly beautiful "no man's land on the edge of the world". Overnight in Keylong.

8.Tag: Keylong

Tours of the monasteries in Keylong and Tangul area (Khaudung, Shahur, ...). Overnight in Keylong.

9.Tag: Keylong - Sarchu

Drive to Sarchu on Baralacha Pass (about 4400m altitude and time 6 hours). Overnight in the camp Himalayan Saga.

10.Tag: Sarchu -Leh

After the exciting ride through high altitude of Himalayas adventurous routes into the valley of Ladakh, Leh is reached, the picturesque capital of the region. (About 8 hours). Leh is situated about 3354m altitude on the banks of the Indus. Overnight in Leh.

11.Tag: Leh

Today you will visit Hemis, Shey and tiks. Hemis Gompa, 45 km from Leh, situated in a valley, with 500 monks, is the largest and richest monastery of Ladakh and was established in 1638th Thikse is one of the most impressive monasteries of the Indus Valley. From the roof of the monastry which has the largest golden Buddha in the country, one has a broad view of the Indus Valley with the monasteries Stakna, Shey and Matho. Tours of the monasteries in Leh (Hemis, Shey and Thikse). Overnight in Leh.

12.Tag: Leh – Nubra Tal

Drive to Nubra. Continue on a 5.600m high pass leading into the nearby Nubra Valley with its many monasteries and villages intact off all trade routes. Heading visit the monasteries of Deskit, the capital of the region. Overnight in Nubra.

13.Tag: Nubra Tal

For a whole day you are the Nubra Valley, with steep ravines, green valleys and visit the surrounding monasteries. (Khandung, Tegar, Panamik sources). Overnight in the camp in Nubra.

14.Tag: Nubra Tal - Leh

Return to Leh and check in to Hotel Lotus.

15.Tag: Leh - Delhi

Transfer to airport to leave for home.

Rate includes:

  • Accommodation on twin sharing bed and breakfast basis for 2 nights in Delhi and full board basis elsewhere for total of 15 nights.
  • Assistance on arrival/departure at airport/railway station/hotels.
  • All transportation using air-conditioned vehicle until Manali and non air-conditioned vehicle from Manali to Leh.
  • Services of a locally appointed English-speaking guide for sightseeing tours.
  • All currently applicable entrance fees to the monuments and monasteries.
  • Air-conditioned chair car train tickets on Delhi-Amritsar sector.

  • Meals other than specified above.
  • Camera fees at the monuments or monasteries.

  • Any incidental expenses arising out of road blocks, landslides etc.
  • Expenses of any personal nature such as laundry, beverages, telephone calls etc.

Please note:

For journey from Manali to Leh or any other high altitude tour, a person should be covered under travel insurance and the insurance should also include adventure travel and repatriation by helicopter. Our transfer rates for Manali to Leh or vice versa do not include any travel insurance/repatriation charges/damages/claims etc. in case of any eventuality.

  • Manali – Leh road is an Army road and this road officially remains open from 15 June till 15 Sep only. Hence we request you to kindly schedule the departures accordingly
  • Accommodation in places like Keylong/Sarchu is very basic and you can say that the hotels available are basic/ neat/ clean and can be rated as a guest house. These guest houses do not have websites and we use them regularly for all our USD movement to these regions. Further there is no heating facility in guest houses/camps
  • There would be only 04 full paying pax per vehicle and one of the vehicle will have 5 pax and other vehicles will have 4 pax each. The fifth pax in the vehicle would be the guide.
  • Local guide would be provided in Amritsar/ D’sala/ Manali & Ladakh part only there would not be any local or accompanying guide provided for the journey from Manali to Leh
  • Air-conditioning will not function in high altitude & steep gradients as switching it on puts a lot of pressure on engine which may lead to engine breakdown. Hence we would provide services using AC Innovas  from Amritsar till Manali only and later on Non AC duty
  • At times due to road blockade or landslide we may have to alter the itinerary at the last moment or the day of journey also. In such a case any extra running of vehicle or expenses incurred in operating the changed tour, extra cost would have to be paid by the guest.
  • In Leh, the supply of vehicles to any tour operator is controlled by the local transport union. This means that we are allocated such vehicles and their drivers as the union considers appropriate. Due to the restrictions imposed in this area, we are unable to personally source the vehicles or monitor the standards, as is our practice elsewhere in Himachal.
  • The names of hotels mentioned in the itineraries only indicate that our rates have been based on usage of these hotels. It is not to be construed that accommodation is confirmed at these hotels until and unless we convey the confirmations to you on receipt of your acceptance. However in the event of any of the above mentioned hotels not becoming available at the time of initiating the reservations, we shall book alternate accommodation at a similar or next best available hotel and shall pass on the difference of rates (supplement/reduction whatever applicable) to you.
  • Foreign nationals should also have all travel documents in original. At times this may be required to show at Army check posts while traveling from one place to other (in rare cases Army check posts may ask for an identity proof).
  • Leh/ Ladakh/ Lahaul are Trans Himalayan Regions which comes in rain shadow area which is relatively dry and it does not rain under normal circumstances. The days are hot as the sun rays are strong & UV rays are more in concentration. Leh, Spiti, Kinnaur & Uleytokpo in given period would be moderate temperature and may require light woolens. There can be places like Sarchu which are very high 4200 – 4500 m and can have hostile weather conditions with temperatures which on bad days can go down to -10C also.
