History

For about 450 years, Goa was a Portuguese colony and still the remains of European sway makes the state distinctive in India .The capital of the state, Panaji has its own remains of the memories from the colonial era. Magnificent cathedrals, churches, temples and museums give a contrast to the shimmering sandy beaches of Goa.

Beaches
Goa has a coastal line of 101km (63 miles). Sinquerim, Candolim, Calangute, Baga, Anjuna, Vagator, Morjim and Arambol are the beaches that can be covered in the North Goa Circuit. Beaches in the South circuit starting from Majorda, Velsao, Majorda, Betalbatim, Colva, Benaulim, Varca, Cavelossim, Mobor and Betul are interconnected.


Heritage
Church of Our Lady of Rosary on Monte Santo is one of the oldest (1510) and existing churches built in the era of Portuguese. It’s an amazing Gothic style work combined with renaissance of that period.


Inside Ancestral Goa , there are art galleries, handi crafts, Big Foot Dance Floor Casa da Dona Maria , The Farmer's House , The Fisherman's House, Goan Artisans ,Bird Habitat Spice Yard & Rubber Plantation are some places that you may perceive.


Ecotourism
Goa is famous for its ecotourism; Bhagwan Mahaveer sanctuary is one of Goa’s largest wild life preserve, which is located 53 kms away from Panaji. Ever green forest of Western Ghat is abundant with wild life and this is an ideal place for bird watchers and butterfly spotters. Elephant ride and deer safari can be done in the sanctuary. Bondla wild life sanctuary is a paradise for eco-tourists. It is one of the smallest preserves in Goa The sanctuary is just, 8 sq.kms in size. Botanical garden in the premises of sanctuary offers a place where you can relax when you feel like.


Goa possesses astounding waterfalls and lakes. Dhudhsagar (means sea of milk”), waterfall is worth seeing since it’s a stunning natural water cascade. This is a popular destination for hikers and trekkers. Mayem Lake is Goa’s most popular lake. The lake is located on the shores of wooded land and low hills, which is picturesque. This lake is perfect for boating.
