Thar Desert or the Great Indian Desert extends in an area of 800 km long and 400 km wide. The main three cities of Rajasthan, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur and Bikaner are a part of the desert. These places give a good insight into the life of a desert region apart from other attractions of these cities. A camel safari is possible and it will be a truly tremendous experience as well.

 

Hawa mahal , this five-story, pyramid-shaped structure has layer after layer of 953 small casements, each with tiny pattern worked pink windows, small balconies and arched roofs with hanging cornices, exquisitely modeled and carved. These small windows circulate cool air even in hot months and hence the name Palace of wind or Hawa Mahal. It is built in 1799 and a major attraction for tourism.

 

Amber palace in the pink city, Jaipur is also significant because of its exquisite Sheesh Mahal or hall of mirrors. Jaipur is the first planned city of India. Jaisalmer Fort is another must see spot in Rajsthan located in the golden city Jaisalmer. It is the second oldest fort in this state.

 

Mount abu is a beautiful hill station and a famous pilgrimage spot as well. Revered sacred by the Hindus and the Jains, Mount Abu is associated with a number of shrines and the religious legends attached to this city.

Palace on wheels is rated as one of the ten luxury train journeys in the world. Experience, the bygone era of the royals by taking a trip, to the land of sand dunes and regal palaces.
